The American Academy of Wound Management (AAWM) is a national multidisciplinary
certifying board for healthcare professionals involved in wound care. AAWM
was founded in 1995 to bring together clinicians and researchers interested
in advancing the quality of care offered to wound care patients. To this
end, board certification is now available to physicians, nurses, physical
therapists, occupational therapists, physician assistants and many other
professional involved in wound care or wound care research.
