AAWM Board Certification by Examination
The National Examination for Board Certification in Wound
Management from the American Academy of Wound Management will be held
Thursday, October 5, 2023 at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, prior to
the 15th Annual Clinical Symposium on Advances in Skin and Wound Care,
and on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at testing centers in Atlanta, GA; LA;
Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Cleveland, OH; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; Los Angeles,
CA; Miami, FL; Milwaukee, WI;New York City, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Pittsburgh,
PA; Phoenix, AZ; Seattle, WA; Tampa, FL andWashington, DC.
Applicants for certification must achieve a passing score on the examination
to learn the designation Certified Wound Specialist (CWS).
Diplomate level requires a doctorate degree from an accredited university
and two years of clinical or research experience in wound care; the Fellow
level requires a Master's degree in related health disciplines and two
years of clinical or research experience in wound care; the Clinical Associate
level requires five years of clinical
or research experience and a Bachelor's degree or licensure in a related
health
discipline.
Multidisiciplinary questions cover: General Knowledge, Anatomy, Pathophysiology,
diagnosis, Therapeutics and Psychosocial topics.
