The Deadline for our August exam has been extended to June 30th! Be sure to post mark your applications by this date.

The Certified Wound Care Associate Exam is here! Testing is done at over 700 sites across the country. Please review the CWCA Candidate Handbook below for complete information. 

The CWCA Candidate Handbook is a 16 page instruction guide that includes information about the exam, testing periods and sample questions. Everything you need to know about the exam is included in this handbook. 

You will need Acrobat Reader to open the PDF files, and Microsoft Word to open the DOC files. NOTE: All application materials must arrive at the AAWM together in the same envelop by the application deadline.

Candidates must have three (3) years of clinical experience in wound care in order to sit for the CWCA exam.

1. Complete the Application with all fields filled in with biographical  information including social security number.

2. Provide a professional resume or curriculum vitae.

3. Provide a detailed description of 3 years of clinical wound care experience and direct patient care.

4. Provide copies of professional licenses and board certifications.

5. Include an official transcript from the educational institution of the highest degree sealed in its original envelope.

6. Include three letters from professional references sealed in original envelops. Letters should discuss wound care knowledge, skills, and expertise, and must document the required years of experience.

7. Read the AAWM code of ethics, and sign the statement on the application form, affirming adherence to this code.

8. Complete, in pencil, the Testing Center application form.

9. Provide payment for the required fee.

10. Complete the checklist form by initialing next to each application item.

All application materials must arrive at the AAWM together in the same envelope by the application deadline. Packets that arrive with materials missing will be returned, thus delaying the application. Fedex and USPS certified mail is recommended. It is the soul responsibility of the candidate to ensure that all application materials arrive by the deadline. Faxes will not be accepted.
